The Grand Lodge of Kansas, in continuing to underscore the importance of maintaining our Masonic ritual, and to generate interest in continual and lifelong learning, is sponsoring a ritual competition. This inaugural Grand Lodge of Kansas Ritualistic Competition will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Emporia and will cover elements of the Entered Apprentice degree.

This competition is open to all members of the Grand Lodge of Kansas and members of any recognized Grand jurisdiction residing within Kansas. Persons who are NOT eligible to compete are the Grand Master, members of the Council of Administration, and current and past Grand and Assistant Grand Lecturers.
Each person who wishes to compete must be present in person to exemplify the work and be judged.
Persons will be judged on:
*Accuracy in spoken ritual
*Accuracy in floor movements and presentation (ex: use of proper lines; entering and exiting place/station; rod work and other ritualistic props/implements/elements)
*Candidate experience and overall presentation (ex: candidate handling, verbal/physical presentation; experience)
The ritualistic elements to be exemplified are from the Grand Lodge of Kanas Extended Cipher and Manual of Floor Movements:
*Exiting the Lodge, Interrogatories, Entering and Reporting, Entered Apprentice Work
*Manual of Floor Movements: Page 18, Figure 5, "Work EA Degree"
